Government and Opposition Politicians react to Cabinet Reshuffle

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Following today's (May 1) cabinet reshuffle, a number of politicians both from the Government and the opposition expressed their views to the media. Minister Sajith Premadasa said the appointments were made following the decisions taken by the President and the Prime Minister and that the public will only be happy if those appointed today serve the country well. Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that a number of ministeries did not function efficiently over the past couple of months due to the expected cabinet reshuffle.   Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and MP Wimal Weerawansa also reacted to the cabinet reshuffle. Former President Rajapaksa called today's' reshuffle a joke as this was the 4th cabinet reshuffle in 3 years. MP Wimal Weerawansa said: "The Cabinet of Ministers was appointed in a scientific manner today. The only scientific appointment I see is Sarath Fonseka, who has been given wildlife.
