37 dansals banned in line with Vesak

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors' (PHI) Association has banned 37 dansals organized in line with Vesak. Secretary of the Association, Mahendra Balasuriya said the dansals were banned over several issues including, the usage of food items not suitable for human consumption, unhealthy persons preparing food and lack of cleanliness. According to the secretary, the banned dansals include, 24 soft drink dansals and 8 rice dansals. The Association said, 3,983 dansals had been inspected island wide adding that only 2,625 dansals have been registered.
