Another cabinet reshuffle to take place tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Several Ministers have confirmed that a proposed Cabinet reshuffle will take place tomorrow (May 1).

According to reports, the positions of State Ministers and Deputy Ministers will not be subjected to any change. 

Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages, Mano Ganesan on his Twitter account said "Cabinet Reshuffle tomorrow! Ministers are requested to present themselves by 9.30am."

The six Ministers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, who voted in favor of the no confidence motion (NCM) against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have resigned from their ministerial portfolios and temporary appointments have been made to fill those vacant positions. 

The responsibilities of the Ministries of Labour, Social Empowerment and Welfare were temporarily passed onto the United National Party and Minister Malik Samarawickreme was appointed as the subject Minister.

Minister of Law and Order, Ranjith Madduma Bandara stated that the ministry in charge of the "Samurdhi" will also be given to a minister in the UNP at the cabinet reshuffle tomorrow (May 1). Madduma Bandara noted that the 16 members who voted against the 

government and are now trying to come back in.
