Colombo (News1st) – A decision has been reached to establish a temporary Police Special Task Force (STF) camp in the Mirissa area in Weligama. The STF camp will be set up in order to ensure the safety of tourists that frequent the area.

The decision comes a few days after a group of tourists were harassed in the area. The STF deployed in this camp will also be issued vehicles that can be easily used on the sandy beaches. Two STF camps have already been established in Trincomalee and Arugambay.
