16 SLFP MPs to request for seats in the Opposition

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The 16 Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members who left the Government are to request the Speaker to allocate seats for them in the opposition. According to the UPFA PArliamentarian W. D. J. Senewiratne, when the Parliament resumes on the 08th of May, all 16 SLFP members hope to be seated on the Opposition side of Parliament. He added that they have decided to hand over a letter to the Speaker on the 08th for the allocation of seats. https://www.facebook.com/NewsfirstSL/videos/1920393944687521/ Several youth MPs in the Joint Opposition have called on the 16 Members who left the government, to join with the Joint Opposition. UPFA Parliamentarian, Shehan Semasinghe stated that they are prepared to work with a group that opposes theft and respects the mandate of the people by joining with the opposition even if they don't join with the Joint Opposition.
