US President Donald Trump says that if his planned talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are not fruitful he will "walk out". At a joint news conference, he and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe said maximum pressure must be maintained on North Korea over nuclear disarmament. Abe implored the international community and the US not to reward Kim just for showing up for talks. "Just because North Korea is responding to dialogue there should be no reward, maximum pressure should be maintained," he said. CIA Director Mike Pompeo's secret trip to North Korea to meet Kim Jong-un is marked as the highest level contact between the US and North Korea since 2000. Trump is expected to hold a summit with Kim by June.
