Paddy farmers to receive compensation

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - The Agricultural & Agrarian Insurance Board says that they will begin distributing compensation for farmers affected during the Maha Season from Monday (April 23). According to the Chairman of the Board Sydney Gajanayake, the calculation of losses and preparation of compensation that needs to be given is in its final stages. Further, he added that the worst affected areas were, Polonnaruwa, Ampara, Kurunegala, Moneragala, and Hambantota.
