st) - Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage was released on bail after he fulfilled bail conditions.
He was arrested yesterday (April 16) by the FCID after he was summoned to record a statement in connection to an alleged financial misappropriation linked to Lanka Sathosa Ltd.
Later, he was produced before Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne who granted bail. The former Minister was also ordered to hand in his passport to the court.
Mahindananda Aluthgamage was placed in remand custody yesterday (April 16) as he failed to submit his passport to the court which he claimed was in the custody of the Colombo High Court.
