Gammadda: Foundation laid to change lives at Kamburupitiya Base Hospital

COLOMBO (News 1^st) – Water is taken for granted by those living in many parts of this world. But there are hundreds, hidden in distant and difficult corners of this globe, who suffer without a trickle of these life-giving drops. The News1st Gammadda initative laid the foundation stone for another drinking water project at the Kamburupitiya Base Hospital today (April 9). S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is sponsoring the project with a sum of 1.1 million rupees. The Gammadda Secretariat received reports that the staff and patients at the Kamburupitiya Base Hospital were facing a severe crisis due to the lack of sufficient water. Therefore as a response to this cry for help the Gammadda initiative began their work this morning on providing the staff and patients of the hospital with a tube well.
