Nigeria rescues hundreds abducted by Boko Haram

The Nigerian military rescued 149 women and children who were abducted by the armed group Boko Haram. NAN, the Nigerian state news agency reported the captives included 54 women and 95 children and they were sent to receive medical treatment. During the rescue raid, the Nigerian armed forces killed three Boko Haram fighters and captured five others. Boko Haram, has waged an armed campaign nearly for 10-years to create an Islamic state in northeastern Nigeria. The conflict between the Boko Haram and Nigerian state military has left at least 20,000 people dead and displaced more than 2.6 million.
