COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Army is preparing to 683 acres of land currently occupied by the military in the Jaffna district. Army spokesperson Brigadier Sumith Atapattu said the land will be handed to Jaffna District Secretary on the 16th of April. He further said the decision was taken after verifying the orinal owners of the land. The brigadier also said that the decision was reached following a review on wether releasing the land in the Palali area would have an adverse impact on the security in the area.
