Leader of the JVP, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that the No Confidence Motion (NCM) against the Prime Minster has also caused divisions among the Rajapaksa family.
Speaking to the media on Thursday (April 5th) DIssanayake said that there are two distinct groups in the Rajapaksa family who operate in opposite ways.
MP Anura Kumara said that the group lead by Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his loyalists were keen on making this NCM a success in-order to come into power. According to the Leader of the JVP their aim of regaining power is motivated by their desire to stop legal action against them.
Basil Rajapaksa is the leader of the second group according to Anura Kumara who remarked that this faction operated in a different way and relies of deals and compromises with those in power to sweep legal action against them under the carpet.
