Nepali national arrested at BIA for possession of heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Forty heroin capsules were discovered in the stomach of a Nepali national who was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau at the Bandaranaike International Airport, yesterday (March 30). The Police Narcotics Bureau said the contraband weighs 400 grams and is estimated to have a street value of Rs. 4.5 million. The foreign national had arrived in the island from Pakistan, via Dubai. The suspect is currently admitted at the Negombo District General Hospital, under Police protection. The Minuwangoda Magistrate ordered the suspect to be detained and interrogated for seven days.
