COLOMBO (News 1st) – State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that media reports claiming the President had met with the Prime Minister and pledged his support to defeat the no-confidence motion are false.

Addressing a media briefing at the SLFP Head Quarters the state minister said they would support the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.

Minister Susil Premajayantha speaking at the same media briefing said the final decision on the no-confidence motion will be reached following a meeting with the President on the 2nd of April.
