COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Cost of Living Committee is scheduled to take a decision in the meeting this evening (March 27) on whether to increase the price of milk powder and gas.
The natural gas manufacturing companies requested the government to increase the price of a gas cylinder by Rs. 270, while the Cost of Living Committee agreed for an increase of Rs. 175 in a meeting held last week.
Meanwhile, the importers of dairy products have requested to increase the price of a kilogram of milk powder on grounds that they run at a loss. A decision in this regard is yet to be reached during discussions this evening.
