Sri Lanka Navy sinks damaged ship used by ex-LTTE leader KP and 8 bullet proof cars

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Naval Vessel, A522 was sunk in the ocean by the Sri Lankan Navy today (March 26). It was said to have been used by ex-LTTE leader Kumaran Pathmanathan. The vessel was sunk in the West seas of the Island. The Navy stated that the vessel was taken into custody following the conclusion of the conflict. The Navy initially intended to sell the ship, which was in an unusable condition, as scrap metal. However, the decision was taken to sink the ship as a suitable bid was not submitted. They said that the ship is to become home to a number of aquatic animals and corals. Plans are also in place to make the location a tourist destination. Apart from the vessel, eight bulletproof vehicles of VIPs that is no longer in usable condition were also submerged.
