Bank robbery in Kiribathgoda; robber made off with one million cash

COLOMBO (News 1st) -A bank robbery was reported in a private bank branch in Kiribathgoda today (20th March). The thief who broke into the bank has used a knife to threaten the bank staff and has made off with one million Rupees. The police say the suspect had escaped in a motorcycle and the police units are in search of the suspect. Expressing his views on the incident Chameera Perera the convener of the Left Centre said the law must be enforced on the individual who committed the crime, however, far more serious bank robberies have happened in the country such as Central Bank bond scam.
