COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Government has decided to lift the ban imposed on Viber allowing users to once again access the popular messaging platform.
A Statement from Attorney-At-Law Sudarshana Gunawardena, the Director General of Government Information stated that the decision was made after taking into account the difficulties experienced by Sri Lanka expatriates.
In addition, the Government has also looked into the inconvenience caused to tourists as well as small businesses that were affected by the ban.
A further elaboration on the ban imposed on Social Media and the dangers of using alternate means to access the web.
