Over 200 arrested in connection to the recent tension around SL

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - 230 people have been arrested in connection to the events which occurred in Kandy and other areas, says the Police. According to the Police Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara, 161 suspects out of the 230 were arrested from Kandy. The situation in the Kandy Administrative district is calm and peaceful at present, confirmed ASP Gunasekara. However, in a bid to ensure security, the Police, STF and Tri-Forces will be deployed in the relevant areas. Furthermore, Police has requested Kandy residents to file complaints on damage caused to property in the recent incidents.
