COLOMBO (News 1st) – Southern Provincial Councilor M.K.Kasun and his wife, who were arrested for assaulting a private bus driver were remanded until the 13th of March by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

Councillor M.K.Kasun and his wife were captured on camera assaulting a private bus driver at the Koswatte Junction in Battaramulla.

The wife of the Provincial Councillor had assaulted the bus driver yesterday (March 9) for not giving way for the SUV she and her husband were travelling in.

At this moment, a pistol was seen in the hand of the Provincial Councillors wife.

The Provincial Councillor and his wife were arrested yesterday (March 9) and the injured bus driver is being treated at the Mulleriya Hospital.

The arrested politician is M.K.Kasun is the son of Former Southern Province Minister M. K. Ranjith alias Chandi Malli.

M. K. Ranjith alias Chandi Malli was a close associate of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in 2003 when leaving the Criminal Investigations Department in Fort.
