Hamilton receives record number of Olivier nominations

Hit hip-hop musical Hamilton has made Olivier awards history by receiving a record 13 nominations. The West End show received two more nominations than the 11 Hairspray and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child received in 2008 and 2017 respectively. Two of its nominations are in the best actor in a musical category, where Giles Terera and Jamael Westman are both recognized. The Ferryman gets eight nominations, including one for best new play. Catherine Tate will host this year's awards, to be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 8 April.
