UNP Parliamentary group meets at Temple Trees with Prime Minister

The UNP Parliamentary group gathered at Temple Trees this afternoon for a meeting with the Prime Minister. Speaking to the media Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development & Cultural Affairs, Palitha Thewarapperuma stated that nothing transpired from the discussion and that they are also looking forward to something but nothing happened. Furthermore, he stated that they spoke about the economy and the Samurdhi officers working towards the victory of the Pohottuwa. He stated that there was nothing special discussed during the meeting. A question was raised on discussions about the no-confidence motion and party reforms. Responding he stated that they did not discuss the no-confidence motion and that the party leader stated that the reforms would be undertaken. Minister Thewarapperuma stated that not even Minister Range Bandara said anything about preparing for a no-confidence motion tomorrow (March 6). After the meeting UNP Parliamentarian, Ajith Mannaperuma stated that they held discussions on their activity for the upcoming week of parliament sittings. He stated that they have accepted the fact that there must be a change in the party and their journey and have discussed how they can affect the change. When a question was raised on whether he submitted the report on party reforms he said he did not submit the report and that this is a routine meeting that they hold every week prior to parliament sittings.
