Special traffic plan for Gangarama Nawam Perahera

COLOMBO (News 1st)- A special traffic plan is scheduled in line with Nawam Procession of Gangarama Viharaya today (01 March). The Police Headquarters sources say that the special traffic plan will be in effect today from 5 PM onwards, due to Nawam Procession of Gangarama Viharaya. The Nawam Procession will travel along Sir James Peiris Mawatha, Nawam Mawatha, Perahera Mawatha, W.A.D. Ramanayaka Mawatha,Muttaia Road, Sri Jinarathana Mawatha, Hunupitiya Lake Road, Braybrooke Place, Park Street and Staple Street. According to the police, parking and vehicular movement along these routes will be restricted today (01 March), however, the public can use F.R.Senanayake Mawatha, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, and Vauxhall Street to park the vehicles. The Nawam Procession of Gangarama Viharaya began in the year 1979.
