President Sirisena to make special statement on political situation

COLOMBO (News1st): President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to make a special statement today regarding the current political situation in the country. Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said, the statement will be made after a meeting with the heads of media institutions at the Presidential Secretariat at 8:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the report of the Finance Commission for 2016 was handed over to President Sirisena. The Presidential Media Unit said the Chairman of the Finance Commission U.H. Palihakkara handed over the report at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. Samaratunga and several others were present.
