COLOMBO (News1st) - The death toll in the collapse of a building in Grandpass has risen to seven.

Three people have died after a building located down Babapulle Mawatha in Grandpass, collapsed. Two persons have sustained injuries. Director of the Accident Ward at the National Hospital said the injured are in serious condition. The Police Media Spokesperson said several others are buried under the rubble and that an operation is currently underway to rescue them. The Colombo Fire Brigade said, eight emergency vehicles have been dispatched for rescue purposes.
