COLOMBO (News1st) – Following a raid, the Tea Board has uncovered details of an operation where tea is being mixed with sugar and then issued to the market.

The raid was carried out at two tea factories in Ratnapura.

Chairman of the Tea Board, Rohana Pethiyagoda, said the production of tea at these two factories was banned. Furthermore, he noted that an extensive investigation has been launched into the matter.
