Grammy-winner Dennis Edwards, who performed lead vocals for some of the chart-topping Motown singles recorded by The Temptations in the 1960s and 1970s, died at age 74.
According to his manager, Edwards died at a hospital in Chicago on Thursday (Feb 1) night or Friday (Feb 2) morning of complications from an unspecified illness.
The singer, who lived outside St. Louis, would have celebrated his 75th birthday on Saturday (Feb 3).
Edwards was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 as a member of The Temptations.
