A fungal growth is found to have spread again on the Sigiriya “Ketapath Paura”.

According to the Department of Archaeology, this fungal growth has been found in several places on the rock.

The Archaeology Department further noted that the origin of this fungal growth is the fungi grown on trees surrounding the Sigiriya rock fortress.

Remedial measures have been taken according to instructions given by the Microbiology Department of the University of Kelaniya.
