The Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development has announced that filling stations that issue kerosene in bulk, in violation of the circular, have been sealed.

According to the Secretary of the Ministry, filling stations have been instructed to issue kerosene to meet the needs of the people.A circular was issued by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation on February 18,  suspending the sale of kerosene in bulk.

However, certain filling stations are not selling kerosene to the general public even after the circular was issued.

Another circular was issued on Thursday January 25, considering the difficulties faced by the general public, to issue kerosene according to the requirements.

The secretary added that information has come to light, that buses are collecting kerosene for unlawful gains.He further stated that all filling stations that violate the circular will be sealed.
