President Maithripala Sirisena has announced that he would step down as President, only after enforcing the necessary punishments against corrupt politicians.

The political culture in the country has been completely tarnished as a result of corrupt politicians engaged in theft and corruption and have failed to build this country, said President Sirisena

The Head of State emphasised that he is committed to create a clean country and to drive out all corrupt politicians to prison.
