Elections are nearing and reports on election law violations are on the rise.Police have now been instructed to remove all illegal election banners, posters and other propaganda material.

The above move was confirmed to News 1st by Additional Elections Commissioner Saman Rathayake.

He also noted that the Elections Commission is taking action based on complaints lodged with the election offices set up in each district.

Meanwhile, the UPFA office in Saluapullana Wewa electorate in Dambulla was attacked last night (December 29).
