Galle Police has arrested a suspect in Habaraduwa for allegedly abducting a person and demanding a ransom of Rs. 5 million.

The suspect was arrested following a raid carried out by the Galle Police.

According to police, the kidnapping took place on December 21. Police seized live ammunition and a sum worth Rs 40,000 from the suspect.

The suspect, 34, is a resident of Aguluganga and will be be produced before the courts today, December 29.
