Investigation report into the ‘Petrol Crisis’ nearly complete – Min. Arjuna to call CID

The investigation report into the recent ‘Petrol Crisis’ is nearly complete. The report is being compiled by a special committee appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena.

According to committee member Dr. Sarath Amunugama, -the Minister of Special Assignments- the report is to be handed over to President in the near future.

“There is no Petrol crisis. There was no Diesel crisis in the past as well. Now we are looking at the reasons for this and we will hand over the report to the President on Tuesday.” Dr. Sarath Amunugama

CID to investigate

The Minister of Petroleum Arjuna Ranatunga is, according to the Ceylon Today newspaper, calling in the CID to conduct a complete investigation into the incident.

The minister has said CID should find out from where the ‘false SMS’ originated on an oil strike.
