Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development says that one hour is required to release the report on the petrol sample from the 40,000 metric tonnes of petrol which was brought to the country aboard Neveska Vessel, last night.
Police protection has been sought by the ministry in order to ensure effective petrol distrbution.
The distribution of petrol will begin after obtaining a report on the sample. According to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the distribution of fuel will commence at 2 p.m. today.
