The Gammadda initiative began another project today. The project will see the construction of a library for students of the Ithtapana-Saranankara Primary School in Matugama.

Approximately 470 students are currently studying at the  Ithtapana-Saranankara Primary School. The  school is considered to be one of the best schools in the Matugama education zone.

Seven years ago, there was a risk of this school closing down. However, based on the reconstructed education system, the closure did not come into effect. The lack of a library was an ongoing issue for the school over a long period.

Today however, bringing smiles to the faces of students, the Gammadda initiative laid the foundation for a new library, under the auspices of Director of News1st, Chamika Roshan. Several other officials also participated in this important event

The project was sponsored by a Korean couple residing in Sri Lanka. The estimated amount to complete the construction of the library is close to Rs. 700,000.
