Another suspect in Far Eastern Bank fraud produced before Fort Magistrate

Bandula Weerawardena, who was arrested for financial fraud connected to the Far Eastern International Bank in
Taiwan was remanded until October 25, by Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today.
Bandula Weerawardena, a relative of Janaka Chaminda Nammuni , who was earlier arrested and charged with illegally entering into accounts of the Far Eastern International bank, and transferring Rs. 300 Million into his own account.
Weerawardena surrendered to the Criminal Investigations Department with three million rupees that he had received though this transaction, last evening.
The Criminal Investigations Department, while producing the suspect before court, stated that investigations are underway to arrest more suspects.
