The Election Commission is due to convene this morning under the auspices of its Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya.Special attention will be focussed on the issues that have cropped up regarding future elections.

Mahinda Deshapriya said attention will also be drawn towards on going court proceedings regarding the Provincial Councils and Local Government Elections.

He added however, that a date to hold the Provincial Councils and Local Government Elections will not be decided upon as the gazette notification on the number of members of local government bodies has not been issued.
