An inmate of Ukrainian nationality, who was brought to the Aluthkade Prison Complex was arrested once again today, after a failed escape attempt.

Prison officials opened fire order to capture the inmate, who attempted to flee custody.The suspect and his wife had earlier been sentenced to death in connection to the murder of a child in the Athurugiriya area.
