At least 59 people were killed and more than 527 were injured Sunday night in Las Vegas in the deadliest shooting in modern US history.

A gunman, named as 64-year-old Nevada resident Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air music festival attended by 22,000.

He killed himself as police stormed the room where 10 guns were found.

However the attacker’s motive is unknown, but police believe he acted alone. They said he is “not believed to be connected to any militant group” despite a claim of responsibility from Islamic State.

Meantime, it was revealed that Stephen Paddock’s father, Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, was on the FBI’s most wanted list in the 1970s.
