A committee has been appointed to look into the derailment of train number 859, that was en route to Colombo from Kurunegala.

According to the Railways Department, the train had derailed from Polgahawela on Saturday morning. A group of engineers are currently working on the relevant repair work.

Superintendent of Railways, Vijaya Samarasinghe said a bus service is in operation from Kurunegala to Polgahawela and Polgahawela to Kurunegala for passengers who are inconvenienced due to the train derailment.
