GMOA strike: Patients suffer in hospitals countrywide – Motorcade protest to reach Colombo

Patients were severely inconvenienced, again, on Friday, as a result of the strike launched by government doctors against the SAITM private medical college.

The strike is taking place in the Colombo, Puttalam, Gampaha, Kalutara and Kegalle districts, today. Today is the fourth and final day of a string of strikes carried out by the GMOA, against the SAITM private medical college.

Patients across twenty districts were severely inconvenienced over the past three days owing to the strike. A News1st correspondent noted that the strike was only in effect in the OPD of the Gampaha General Hospital.

Meanwhile, a motorcade protest launched against the SAITM private medical college is to arrive in Colombo today, Friday, September 15.
