Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah appointed Navy Commander

Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah has been appointed as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy by President Maithripala Sirisena.

He previously held  appointments as the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet.

Travis Sinniah joined the Sri Lanka Navy as a Cadet in 1982, and he also received his training at The British Royal Naval College.

Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah, who made heroic contributions during the war, has been awarded a number of medals including the Uththama Seva Padakkama or “Meritorious Service Medal”, which is presented for valuable service and dedication to duty with outstanding ability, merit and excellent conduct.
