Train guards attached to the Maradana Division have launched a strike action against the failure of authorities to get rid of pests in their restrooms.

The Railway Control Room says trains plying from Colombo to Rambukkana will be delayed as a result of the strike.

Secretary of the Sri Lanka Railway Guard Union, Manura Pieris said the strike was launched from 10 a.m. today, Saturday, August 12.

He added that future steps will be decided based on the response of the railway authorities.
