Navy Media Spokesperson, Lieutenant Commander Chaminda Walakuluge said that these fishermen have been released as a part of the initiative to uplift the bi-lateral relations among the two states.
The two fishermen who set off sail from Point Pedro was taken into custody by the Indian Coast Guard on May 20.
Meanwhile, 77 Indian fishermen who were in the custody of Sri Lanka were released recently.
Sixty four Indian fishermen continue to remain in Sri Lankan custody.
