Chevaan Daniel has been selected as the 2017 United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Fellow, becoming the first Sri Lankan Eisenhower Fellow to be conferred with a Special Award.
The UTC Fellowship is awarded to “Outstanding Fellows who have distinguished themselves in their field, and are committed to making the world a better place and improving the ability of people to access information and opportunity”.
Past recipients of the UTC Fellowship include Wahyuni Hadi, Executive Director of the Singapore International Film Festival, the largest and most prominent film event in the region; Juan Pardinas, Head of the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness, a leading public policy research organisation and the most influential evidence-based think-tank in Mexico; and Ana Jose Varela-Gonzalez, Chief Investment Officer at the Barrie Foundation and a driver of investment in Science and R & D for Economic and Social Benefits.
