Two of the six military intelligence officers arrested over the assault on journalist Namal Perera were identified today, April 12.
The suspects were arrested for allegedly abducting journalist Namal Perera in a white van and assaulting him.
An identification parade took place in the presence of the Acting Magistrate of Colombo, Lanka Jayaratne.
The two military intelligence personnel identified by the witness were ordered to be remanded until April 26.
The remaining four suspects were released on sureties of Rs. 200,000 each.
These suspects were charged with assaulting journalists Keith Noyahr and Upali Tennakoon as well. Journalist Namal Perera was abducted and assaulted in 2008.
