Twelve persons in the Central Province has died in the first three months of this year, after contracting the Influenza AH1N1 virus.
Director of Health Services for the Central Province, Dr. Shanthi Samarasinghe said five persons have lost their lives in the Matale District.
The total number of persons diagnosed with the Influenza AH1N1 virus over the course of this year, stands at 115.
Forty of the 115 diagnosed patients are residents of the District of Kandy while, 23 of them are from the District of Matale.
