Inquiry made in public interest reveals “tenure of ICTA CEO has been extended”

In response to an inquiry made by News1st, in terms of the Right to Information Act directed to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, the ministry noted that the tenure of the CEO of ICTA has been extended.

The letter further states that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ICTA, Google Loon, LLC and its affiliates Lotus Flare Holdings Ltd and Rama Corporation.

News1st also inquired into the salary particulars of the CEO of ICTA, Muhunthan Canagey.

The letter notes that the salary particulars of the CEO are pursuant to a contract which is private and confidential to the person with whom the contract has been signed, and release of this information would amount to unwarranted invasion of privacy.
