The second phase of News 1st’s Gammadda 100 day movement celebrated its titled 100th day today.
The initiative brought comfort and a sense of hope for a better future to the hearts of all Sri Lankans across the country. How? by fulfilling the broken promises left by politicians.
The movement undertook a large number of projects – from building roads to providing access to clean water, building houses, bridges, community halls, milk collection centres, schools libraries…. the list goes on.
Today, March 15, members of News 1st were invited to the celebratory festivities organised by the people across the country.
One such event was a ceremony held at the Sansungama village, Hingurakgoda (Anuradhapura District – North Central Province). The village received a water project under the Gammadda initiative – just a few months ago.
Another event was organised at the Kandakkuliya Samudrasanna Viharaya, Kalpitiya. Our initiative undertook the renovation of the Viharaya’s Dharma Shalawa.
Medawachchiya, Vavuniya, Monaragala, Ahangama, Kalutara and Padaviya are also among many other areas which celebrated the movement and its efforts.
