Former United States President Barrack Obama’s signature ‘Obamacare’ health system has come to face the inevitable.
Staying true to the promises, US House Republicans have unveiled a long-awaited plan to replace ‘Obamacare’ -a.k.a. The Affordable Care Act. The proposed legislation would repeal penalties for those who do not buy health insurance.
It would also replace income-based subsidies to help with the cost of premiums with age-based tax credits. As expected, the Democrats immediately criticized the plan. They claim it would drive up the costs of health care.
The Affordable Care Act helped 20m previously uninsured Americans get health insurance.
However increases in insurance premiums have irked many Americans.
